Ježov

Ježov is situated 7 km north of Kyjov in the vale of the Hruškovice Creek. The vale over Ježov is narrower and deeper than the other vales in the Chřiby foothills. There is a Horní Ježov water reservoir, summer houses and a caravan site. The eastern slope is forested, on the western one there are reserves called Hošťálka * and Ježovský lom (Ježov Quarry) *. To the west of Ježov, on the right side stream of the Hrušovice there is a Dolní Ježov water reservoir. Ježov has 694 inhabitants and is a member of the Podchřibí micro-region. Visitors to Ježov usually get captured with the interior of the Church of St. James the Bigger * * with old gravestones , from the perspective of science and landscaping the vale of the Hruškovice seems interesting. Lignite was mined in Pokrok mine in the years 1949-1963. The village festival with a parade and a drake are held in mid-October, a “northern Kyjov” folk costume is worn.
