Ždánice is located 9 km to the north-west of Kyjov and has 2672 inhabitants. Ždánice was awarded town status in 1965. The town is a member of the Voluntary Union of Villages of Ždánický forest and the Litava River Region and is situated at the southern foot of the raised Ždánický forest. To the north of the town, the forest changes into an agricultural landscape with orchards and vineyards. To the south of Ždánice, there are fields.
